Are Dogo Argentinos prone to deafness?

It is known that white-coated dogs are prone to deafness, so what’s up with Dogos? This white coated breed can’t be an example – 10% of these pups born with some kind of deafness. The deafness can be unilateral or bilateral – in case of unilateral deafness the pup is deaf to only one ear, in the case of bilateral, for both.
Before you buy a puppy, make sure the parents are not deaf, and that the breeder had him/her B.A.E.R. tested. However, these dogs are able to live a happy life, even if they are deaf, if they are properly cared for.
Avoid unnecessary vet bills! Do your dog’s basic health check!
